What whiteboarding tools should I use for my online lessons?

There are many different ways to create a virtual whiteboard, and we encourage teachers to be creative with their solutions.

The most efficient way seems to be screen sharing to a whiteboard website such as www.bitpaper.io or www.whiteboard.fi, or using a drawing/writing app, such as Notability, Desk Draw, or Doodle Buddy.

If you want to type or share images, we recommend using the screen share function on your meeting platform and projecting the screen of a Word document or Google Doc where you can type.

If you have the resources available at home, you can set up a two-device system with your phone camera and your other device and use the phone camera as a makeshift projector to live stream writing on paper.

This is by no means an exhaustive list. However, teachers continue to develop creative solutions that fit their needs, such as using their shower tiles as a literal whiteboard and pointing their computer camera at it!
